Job Description
The Executive Office is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. The Executive Office supports the political leadership and administrations to ensure that the political direction is implemented across Region Uppsala's various operations, allowing the region to fulfill its role both regionally and nationally. The Executive Office is led by the Regional Director and plays a governing, supportive, and coordinating role within Region Uppsala. The Executive Office comprises the Department of Economy and Control, the Department of Regional Development, the IT Department, the HR Department, the Health and Medical Care Department, the Information and Communications Department, as well as the Regional Director's Cabinet. The Executive Office has approximately 1,000 employees.

To the HR Department, which is part of Region Uppsala's Executive Office, we are now looking for an experienced negotiator/labor law attorney with a very strong ability to navigate complex employer issues. The department is responsible for the overall strategic HR work in Region Uppsala, and the mission is to develop and provide high-quality, operationally relevant HR support based on the employer policy strategy.
The position is located within the HR Law and Agreements functional area, where tasks related to labor law, negotiations, wage formation and wage review, union cooperation, and working hours are coordinated.
The unit serves as an expert function in the area of law and agreements. It monitors news and developments in labor law matters, disseminates relevant information to other affected functions, identifies training needs, and provides training. Providing support and advice in labor law cases and assisting operations in labor law disputes is an important part of the role.
We are now looking for you who want to spend most of your time on issues related to labor law and negotiations. An important labor law area that receives special focus here and will be part of your assignment is working time issues. Other questions/tasks occurring within the unit may also become part of your assignment. Together with your colleagues in HR Law and Agreements, you will support HR partners and managers across all operations in Region Uppsala.
Examples of this may include:
- labor law advice
- dispute negotiations
- monitoring the unit's areas of responsibility
- leading various projects regarding different agreement issues and employer issues
- Training of HR staff and managers
- design, development, and updating of documentation and work materials
The assignments are of both strategic and operational nature. Collaboration with different parts of the HR organization, union partners, and other functions in Region Uppsala is of great importance to the work.
You report to the Chief Negotiator and work closely with labor law attorneys and other HR specialists in the unit. We value an open climate and good collaboration within the work group. Here, you will become part of an engaged and creative HR team!

Responsibilities

- Training of HR staff and managers

Qualifications
- University degree in a field relevant to the position.
- Extensive experience in independently managing and handling labor law cases and participating in/leading negotiations.
- Very good experience in collaborating with union organizations, for example in cooperation groups or in MBL negotiations.
- Extensive experience in interpreting collective agreements.
- An pedagogical and solution-focused approach to work.
- Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
