Are you interested in providing qualified HR support to deans and managers?
Do you want to work with qualified HR support for deans and managers alongside competent and friendly colleagues in a knowledge-intensive and international environment? Do you want an employer that invests in sustainable leadership and employee relations, and a healthy work environment offering secure and advantageous employment conditions? We are now looking for an HR Specialist due to an increased need in operations. If so, you are warmly welcome to apply for the position of HR Specialist at the HR Department.
The HR Department is part of the University Administration at Uppsala University and is located in the Segerstedt House, in modern and bright premises close to the Botanical Garden, Carolina Rediviva, and Uppsala Castle. The department consists of approximately 50 employees distributed across four units. The department's overarching mission is to contribute to Uppsala University being an attractive employer. We provide support and advice on strategic and operational HR matters and represent the employer regarding employer policy and conditions. Here, you will enjoy varied work in a developing and stimulating environment characterized by engagement, high competence, innovation, and colleagues with strong digital/AI maturity.
Responsibilities
In the role of HR Specialist, you offer qualified and consultative advice to managers within the University Administration and serve as a support to operationally focused HR generalists within the university's scientific fields.
You work broadly with HR issues and provide support in areas such as labor law, talent acquisition, wage formation, work environment, and equal opportunities. You also handle complex cases, such as redundancy, redeployment, misconduct, termination of employment, and lead labor law negotiations based on current legislation and collective agreements. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other HR colleagues, where you jointly leverage and develop the collective competence within the HR function.
By working both operationally and strategically, you contribute to creating a strong HR function that meets the needs of the operations.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have an academic degree in HR, such as the Human Resources Management program, or equivalent competence assessed by the employer as equivalent, combined with several years of relevant work experience for the position. You have excellent knowledge of labor law and experience in independently applying legislation and collective agreements in practice.
You have several years of current experience in providing qualified advice and consultative support to managers on a broad range of HR issues. Furthermore, you have documented experience in handling complex labor law cases such as redundancy, redeployment, misconduct, and termination of employment, and you feel confident in driving and leading union negotiations.
You have excellent digital competence and maturity, and are a proficient user of relevant IT systems and tools. You are curious about how new technology, digital environments, and ways of working can be used to develop and strengthen HR work. You also have documented good skills in communicating and expressing yourself well orally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability. To succeed in the role, you work proactively and independently, drive tasks forward, and adapt when conditions change. You work in a structured and solution-focused manner, with good analytical ability and a holistic perspective. You have excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills that create trust in meetings with managers and colleagues. Since the work involves handling complex personnel cases, it is important that you have high integrity, good judgment, and feel confident in your competence. You are happy to share your knowledge and actively contribute to joint learning and development.
