Are you a meticulous and service-oriented economic administrator who thrives in a role where structure, flexibility, and collaboration are key parts of everyday life? We are now looking for an Economic Administrator for SLU in Uppsala.

This role is ideal for you if you want to work close to the operations with ongoing economic administration and provide support to researchers, teachers, managers, and administrative functions. You will become part of an administrative function that works broadly with economics, personnel administration, diary registration, archiving, and other operationally close support functions.

The assignment starts in mid-August and initially lasts for 6 months, with the possibility of extension or direct employment at SLU for the right person. The assignment is at 50% and the work is primarily performed on-site at SLU in Uppsala. Working hours are flexible and planned based on the needs of the operations.

You will be employed as a consultant by Poolia and work on assignment for SLU.

Selection and interviews are conducted continuously, so we warmly welcome your application today.

About the role

As an Economic Administrator, you will have an important role in the ongoing economic administrative work. You will work closely with three economists and support the operations with various economic and administrative matters.

The main focus of the role will be handling supplier and customer invoices, where allocation (accounting coding) becomes a central part of the work. You will also work with orders, purchasing, ongoing bookkeeping, reconciliations, and some diary registration. The role also involves contact with researchers, teachers, and managers, which requires a good sense of service, clarity, and the ability to handle different types of people and issues.

You will not be alone in the organization, but you need to be able to take responsibility for your tasks and drive them forward independently. Support is available from economists and the personnel administrator, but the role requires that you are confident in tackling issues, clarifying questions, and following up on what needs to be resolved.

Tasks include, among other things:

  • Handle supplier and customer invoices
  • Work with allocation, ongoing bookkeeping, and reconciliations
  • Handle orders and purchases in current systems
  • Provide administrative and economic support to researchers, teachers, and managers
  • Participate in closing processes and economic follow-up as needed
  • Work with diary registration and document management according to current routines
  • Contribute to general administrative support where needed

Who are you?

To thrive in this role, you need to be meticulous, structured, and responsible. You have good organizational skills and can prioritize between different tasks even when several matters are ongoing simultaneously.

You are service-oriented and find it easy to collaborate with different people and functions. Since the role involves many contact surfaces, you need to be flexible in your approach and able to adapt your communication depending on the situation and person. You also need to have thick skin and be able to handle questions or matters that sometimes require follow-up, clarity, and patience.

We believe you are unpretentious and happy to jump in where needed. You thrive in a role where you both work independently and closely with others, and you understand that economic administration in a research and educational environment requires both precision, service, and flexibility.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • At least a high school education with an economic focus, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in economic administration, such as invoice handling, allocation, bookkeeping, or reconciliations
  • Good familiarity with working in economic systems and digital administrative systems
  • Good knowledge of the Office package, especially Excel
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing

Merits

It is a merit if you have:

  • Experience in economic administration within government operations, university/higher education, or other public operations
  • Experience with Unit4 ERP, previously UBW/Agresso
  • Experience with Proceedo and/or Primula
  • Experience with diary registration or document management

We review applications continuously, and the position may be filled before the final application date, so do not wait to submit your application.
