The HR Department is part of the University Administration at Uppsala University and is located in Segerstedthuset, in modern and bright premises close to the Botanical Garden, Carolina Rediviva, and Uppsala Castle. The department consists of approximately 50 employees distributed across four units. Our overarching mission is to contribute to Uppsala University being an attractive employer. As an HR Generalist at the HR Department, you work closely with faculties and units and contribute with professional HR support within a broad area. You will become part of a knowledgeable and helpful team where we value collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a shared responsibility for delivering high-quality support to the organization.

You will also participate in the HR function's ongoing development work and digital transformation.
The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues within the faculties' administrative teams. A few days a week, you will have your workplace in the operations, close to the managers and employees you support. You are often responsible for several parallel assignments of both short- and long-term nature, adapted to the operational needs. To thrive in this role, you need to appreciate variety and working consultatively in close collaboration with managers.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a relevant academic degree in the HR field, or equivalent education assessed by the employer as comparable. You also have documented and current experience of broad and independent HR work. You have good knowledge of labor law and documented experience of applying relevant laws, regulations, and collective agreements. You have good experience in giving advice and consultative support to managers within the entire HR field. You have very good digital competence and are a proficient user of various IT systems and digital tools.
Personal suitability will be given great weight. To succeed in the role, we see that you have a good ability to work proactively and independently, drive tasks forward, and adapt when conditions change. You work in a structured and solution-focused manner and have the ability to see the big picture. You have very good collaborative and relationship-building skills that create trust in meetings with managers and colleagues. Since the work involves handling personnel cases, it is also important that you have high integrity and good judgment.
