Coordinator for the Finnish Administrative Area

This means enhanced protection for the Finnish-speaking national minority in our municipality regarding language and culture. Job Responsibilities

As a coordinator, your task will be to support and coordinate the work within the Finnish administrative area in our municipality.

The role includes:

Developing an annual action plan for the Finnish language based on Östhammar Municipality's Plan for National Minorities.
Supporting the municipality's offices and monitoring measures and activities in the annual action plan.
Administering and coordinating regular consultations with the Swedish-Finnish minority.
Developing consultation methods where children and young people can participate.
Responsible for financial monitoring and reporting of the state grant for the Finnish administrative area.
Organizing internal training on minority legislation.
Communicating internally and externally about activities within the Finnish administrative area and the rights of national minorities.
Acting as an expert within the Finnish administrative area and providing support to the municipality's offices.
Reporting to MUCF, boards, management groups, and consultations.

The work within the Finnish administrative area belongs to the Culture and Leisure Office. The coordinator position is located in the Culture and Library unit, which consists of 15 employees. The work is largely during daytime hours, but evening and weekend work may occur to collaborate with associations and operations within Östhammar Municipality.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with administrative experience and good computer skills. You must be fluent in both Swedish and Finnish, both orally and in writing. Previous experience in communication and coordination work is meritorious. It is also an advantage if you have a driver's license and previous experience working in a politically governed organization.

To be successful in this role, you need to be communicative with a very good ability to build relationships and networks. Leading, coordinating, and driving issues forward independently is something you excel at. You organize your work in a structured manner and are socially competent.
