Do you want to work in a broad financial role where you can combine accounting, financial monitoring, and advisory services? We are now looking for an accountant for the accounting unit of the Finance Department. Here you will play an important role as a qualified financial resource for the entire Finance Department.

About the job

The position is located at the accounting unit of the Finance Department, and you will be part of the unit's financial support function. This function consists of financial administrators, accountants, and controllers who together provide financial support to several parts of SLU's shared business support.

As an accountant, you will work with ongoing bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial support and advisory services, financial investigations, capitalization of fixed assets, as well as budgeting, forecasting, and closing processes. You will also contribute to the development of financial administrative routines and working methods.

The role primarily focuses on providing financial support to departments within SLU's business support, but you will also contribute your expertise in other areas, such as SLU's foundation management and/or the central accounting process.

In this role, you will work closely with managers, project leaders, and others across the various departments of the business support unit, serving as a key resource for financial matters related to operations. Therefore, you thrive in a role with many contact points and enjoy collaborating with both technical and administrative functions to find solutions and create added value.

Your background

We are looking for you who have:

• A university or higher education degree in the field of economics/finance
• At least three years of experience in qualified financial work, including ongoing bookkeeping, reconciliations, closing processes, and financial monitoring
• Good knowledge of Excel
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing

Meritorious experience includes:

• Experience with Unit4 ERP and Visma Proceedo
• Work with closing processes and annual reports within foundation management
• Accounting/capitalization of fixed assets
• Financial monitoring of construction or investment projects

Personal qualities:

To thrive in this role, you are structured, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. You are development-focused, have strong analytical skills, and are confident in your professional role. Since the work involves many contact points, it is important that you have good collaboration skills, a service-oriented attitude, and the ability to communicate clearly with different target groups. This is a broad role that requires flexibility, and you should enjoy taking on new challenges independently.

About us

The Finance Department at SLU is responsible for payment processes, receipts, financial accounting, and procurement. We also provide financial and controller support to departments within the business support unit at SLU.
