Do you thrive on analysis, financial management, and creating order and structure that helps others succeed? Then you could be our new Controller, with a special focus on supporting SLU's Property Department, which owns and manages properties and estates.

About the Job

The position is located within the Accounting Unit of the Finance Department, and you will be part of the unit's financial support function. This function consists of financial administrators, economists, and controllers who together provide financial support to various parts of SLU's shared business support.

As a Controller within the financial support function, you have overall responsibility for the financial processes in the department you support. Your main tasks will include financial follow-up and analysis, support and advice on financial matters, year-end closing, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as financial investigations. The role also involves some accounting-related tasks, such as ongoing bookkeeping and reconciliations.

An important part of your role is to ensure quality and develop financial processes and routines for financial work. As a Controller, you coordinate the work of the financial team that supports the department.

The position primarily focuses on SLU's Property Department, and you will work in close collaboration with the department head, unit managers, property managers, operations managers, and others within the department. A central part of the role is to build good collaborations and provide qualified service to the operations. Therefore, you thrive in a role with many contact points and find it easy to collaborate with both technical and administrative functions to find solutions and create added value.

Your Background

We are looking for someone who has:

• Post-secondary education in economics or other education that the employer considers equivalent.
• At least three years of experience in qualified financial work, including experience working independently on complex financial tasks such as year-end closing, budgeting, forecasting, financial follow-up, and analysis.
• Good knowledge of Excel.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Merits include experience with:

• Unit4 ERP and Visma Proceedo.
• Education and/or documented knowledge in property economics.
• Experience in analysis, budgeting, and financial follow-up of properties, agricultural estates, and construction projects.

Since the work involves many contact points, it is important that you have good collaboration skills, a service-oriented approach, and the ability to communicate clearly with different target groups.

About Us

The Finance Department at SLU is responsible for payment processes, receipts, financial accounting, and purchasing. We also provide financial and controller support to departments within SLU's business support.
