You will become part of a military organization undergoing significant change and development due to the international situation and Sweden's NATO membership.
About the unit
The 163rd Garrison Battalion consists of the Logistics Company, the Garrison Company, and the Training Company. Together, they create the conditions for attached units to focus on their primary tasks. The battalion's role and tasks are evolving rapidly to meet the new challenges facing Sweden and the Swedish Armed Forces.
Main responsibilities
As a Case Officer, you are a vital link as the recipient of tasks from higher command and as the reporter back to them. The time horizon for tasks varies from resolving emerging issues within an hour to planning several years ahead.
Examples of duties include:
- Planning with good foresight and an annual planning horizon, as well as drafting supporting materials, governing documents, and order sets.
- Executing task assignment, coordination, and follow-up with subordinate operations.
- Creating conditions for subordinates to execute ordered operations.
- Independently leading and conducting preparations.
- Independently leading ongoing operations within the battalion.
- Creating materials for prioritization and decision-making, and presenting these to higher command.
- Contributing to a common situational picture, both at the battalion level and within the wing.
Since the position is located in a staff, the work is characterized by general staff duties, largely depending on the current situation within the Swedish Armed Forces and F 16. The Case Officer for Execution Planning role involves tasks at all levels with different time horizons. A large part of the work involves collaboration and cooperation with others within the battalion, the wing, and Uppsala Garrison.
The position entails being war-placed at the 16th Air Wing.
Within the Swedish Armed Forces, we always work as a team. Our organization is built on cooperation, adaptability, and a shared responsibility for the whole. This means we are all ready to support each other, sometimes even outside our own competence and comfort zones. Therefore, you may occasionally face new types of tasks. This is a natural part of working in the Swedish Armed Forces, which benefits both the agency and your personal development. You will never be given a task without the necessary conditions to handle it.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Relevant academic education, for example in political science, military science, project management, or equivalent experience assessed as equivalent by the employer.
- Current work experience from a complex organization or authority, preferably within the Swedish Armed Forces or the defense sector.
- Current experience of working daily in various IT systems.
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
- Class B driver's license.
Personal qualities
To thrive in the role, you need to feel secure in a changing environment where tasks often need to be solved with short deadlines. You have the ability to work independently without the need for daily supervision. You are responsible, meticulous, and solution-oriented with drive and a willingness to contribute – not just to your own task, but to the whole. The most important thing is that you are fearless, enjoy and can handle changes in pace, and have the ability to prioritize independently.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
