Do you have a strong interest in analysis and supply security in raw material value chains? Do you want to work with analyzing the value chains required to maintain society's functions and development? Then we may be looking for you!
As a civil emergency preparedness authority, SGU is responsible for tasks that are of particular importance to society's crisis preparedness and total defense. To strengthen the total defense's capability and a robust national economy, industry, construction, and trade are central components. Therefore, the ability to maintain industrial operations during times of crisis or heightened alert is crucial. If you are an experienced analyst who wants to help develop the information and knowledge needed for Sweden's supply chains to contribute, this job is for you.
The Mining and Mineral Industry Analysis Unit consists of 12 employees. The unit is responsible for producing and providing information describing exploration and the mining industry, conducting investigations, and participating in analyses regarding legislation and supply analyses affecting these industries. Additionally, we work with international training assignments concerning mines and the environment.
Responsibilities
We aim to build and deepen our competence regarding the role of raw materials in society's supply preparedness. As an analyst, you often work on multiple issues in parallel, both independently and in roles such as project manager or participant in various cross-sectoral working groups addressing issues related to raw material supply chains.
The tasks include, for example, quickly producing background material by analyzing specific issues, proactively identifying knowledge gaps where decision support is lacking, and participating in long-term work to gather information and build knowledge about the role of raw materials for society's supply preparedness. You will act as a support in subject matters in collaboration with other authorities and in international cooperation. Your duties include maintaining dialogue with both industry and other authorities to deliver what is needed within government assignments and other projects or investigations.
As an analyst, you seek out information and structure and analyze issues, processes, and results with the aim of developing decision support material. The work is largely performed in collaboration with colleagues from various disciplines. Our work is largely driven by the needs of our commissioners and is carried out to varying degrees in collaboration with them. The duties also include presenting results orally and in report form, which requires very good verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- An academic degree at least at the master's or master of science level in engineering, natural sciences, industrial systems, or another area that SGU considers relevant for the position. Alternatively, you have other education combined with work experience that SGU assesses as relevant for the position.
- Experience from the raw materials and extraction sector.
- Experience using qualitative or quantitative analysis methods in professional practice.
- At least 5 years of experience in analytical work, research, or investigations.
- Very good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
- Good ability to express yourself well in English, both verbally and in writing.
Meritorious experience and competence:
- Work experience from a government authority.
- Experience working with the analysis of value chains and issues related to raw materials, industrial value chains, technological development, strategic supply, or market and environmental development.
- Experience working with GIS and geodata.
- Experience in supply preparedness or areas relevant to the total defense's supply preparedness.
- Experience in project management.
- Knowledge or experience from public-private partnerships or EU cooperation.
- Experience in project management and commissioner dialogues.
Personal Qualities
To thrive and succeed in the role, you are good at taking instructions and collaborating with both commissioners and colleagues from various expert areas within the authority. At the same time, you are self-reliant, take responsibility for your tasks, and structure and drive them independently. You have very good problem-solving analytical skills that enable you to handle and analyze problems, as well as clearly communicate results in an understandable way. Furthermore, you have high integrity, good personal maturity, and the ability to adapt your approach to the situation. You will represent SGU externally, so it is also important that you are communicative and professional in meetings with others. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
