The position offers

As a Safety Officer, you will be the support for the unit and its managers in all safety-related matters. The position offers the opportunity to work both independently and in collaboration with others. Through your good organizational skills and ability to structure work, you will contribute to the school's development and security, thereby enhancing the unit's operational capability. The pace can occasionally be fast.

About the unit

The Air Force Officer School (FBS) is part of the Air Force Warfare School (LSS) and provides advanced training for pilots, cabin crew, and MSE personnel (Mission Support Element) in aviation and MSE services, as well as leadership. FBS supports the Air Force Commander with personnel follow-up and recruitment of pilots and MSE, as well as the development and monitoring of all training documentation for aviation services within the Swedish Armed Forces.

The unit also includes Special Selection, which is the Swedish Armed Forces' competence center for psychological selection. The department conducts selection for occupational categories characterized by high risk and/or great complexity. The position is located in Uppsala, but since Special Selection is based in Stockholm, regular travel there will be required.

Main responsibilities

  • Support managers and employees in the unit with safety-related questions.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and revise the unit's security protection analyses.
  • Independently coordinate, process, and follow up on incoming security cases.
  • Conduct security vetting for the unit and as support to the formation.
  • Continuously train unit personnel in security services.
  • Process security-related administration.
  • Support the unit in infrastructure issues from a security perspective.
  • Act as the contact person for the unit in security-related matters.
  • Participate in security checks.

The position is new, and the exact tasks will be partially shaped in consultation with the manager.

Qualifications

  • Upper secondary education (High School Diploma)
  • Several years of experience in independent administrative work
  • Experience in processing cases (analyzing, implementing, and following up)
  • Very good proficiency in spoken and written Swedish
  • Valid driver's license (Category B)
  • Very good proficiency in Microsoft Office

A prerequisite for performing the tasks well is that you are structured, meticulous, and have a very good ability to independently handle emerging tasks. You must be able to handle periods of high workload and prioritize your own work effectively.

The Air Force Warfare School is the joint competence center for development and training for the Air Force. It comprises four joint Air Force schools and trains, among others, future pilots for the Swedish Armed Forces.
