There is now an opening for the role of Economist here in Östhammar! We, who are looking for a new colleague, work within the Economy department, which is part of the Municipal Executive Office. The department includes economic administrators and economists who, together with the Finance Manager, are responsible for the municipality's overarching and strategic economic work – as well as operational support close to the municipality's activities. We work together, support each other, and take joint responsibility for the whole.

We have close cooperation with colleagues in the organization and with our elected politicians. Our workplace is located in the municipal building in Östhammar, with some possibility of remote work.

Responsibilities

Your daily work includes among other things:

• Ongoing economic follow-up and analysis of operations
• Annual accounts, budget, and forecast work
• Drive and participate in development projects
• Work for automation and digitalization of our processes and routines
• Creation and development of decision support materials
• Economic reporting to committees and the municipal executive board
• Support to the municipality's managers in economic matters
• Involvement in certain economic issues, such as bookkeeping, invoice handling, and trade
• Investigation and analysis work based on your experience
• State grant management

You actively contribute to developing and improving our processes, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and good service to operations.

Qualifications

You who apply should have a university education in economics or other experience that we consider equivalent. You should also have a good understanding of accounting flows and are accustomed to working in business systems. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. It is meritorious if you have experience of independent work within the economic field, investigations, and analyses, and have been involved in the digitalization of economic processes.

As a person, we think that you adapt easily to new or changed circumstances and requirements. You are flexible and see opportunities in changes. We would like you to set goals for yourself and work diligently to achieve them. You are motivated and show enthusiasm for your tasks. You are calm, attentive, and accommodating.
