About the role
We are currently looking for a Sales & Operations Planning Specialist for our client in the automotive industry!
In this role, you will work in a central position with significant influence over the business. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders within sales, production, finance, and regional markets to create a balance between demand, supply, and inventory levels. The focus is on both planning and operational execution, while contributing to the further development and improvement of processes within S&OP and global volume planning.
This is a full-time consultancy assignment starting immediately and running until February 28th, with good prospects for extension.
Responsibilities
As a Sales & Operations Planning Specialist, you will work in a central function ensuring that the company's planning is cohesive from forecast to delivery. You are responsible for driving and coordinating the S&OP process, which involves compiling sales forecasts, balancing them against production capacity, and ensuring the right inventory levels.
You will work closely with various parts of the organization, such as sales, production, and finance, acting as a bridge between them to create a holistic view of the business. The role also involves analyzing data, identifying risks and deviations, and proposing actions to optimize flows and achieve business goals.
In addition to operational work, you will contribute to developing and streamlining planning processes, making the role both strategic and analytical with a significant impact on the company's results.
Key Tasks:
- Drive and coordinate the monthly S&OP process from start to finish.
- Compile and quality-assure global sales forecasts together with regional teams.
- Ensure that demand, production, and inventory are balanced – ensuring the right products are available at the right time.
- Monitor and analyze order intake, backlog, inventory levels, and delivery precision.
- Identify risks, deviations, and improvement opportunities, and proactively drive actions.
- Produce clear reports and decision support materials to assist management in strategic decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, production, finance, and others.
- Conduct analyses and provide insights that strengthen business decisions.
About You
To thrive in this role, you are proactive, flexible, and detail-oriented. You have strong analytical skills and enjoy working structured with complex information. You are comfortable taking responsibility for your tasks, meeting deadlines, and thrive in an environment characterized by change and a fast pace.
You collaborate easily with different parts of the organization and are skilled at communicating clearly. At the same time, you are self-driven and confident in moving your work forward, even when handling multiple interfaces in an international and cross-functional environment.
Furthermore, you have a genuine interest in planning, analysis, and business flows, and you enjoy a role where you can combine structure with problem-solving. You handle business-critical information with high integrity and are eager to develop working methods and processes over time.
Qualifications:
- Relevant university degree in fields such as engineering, economics, business administration, supply chain, or similar.
- Approx. 2–5 years of experience in a similar role, e.g., within S&OP, demand planning, or supply chain.
- Good understanding of forecasting and the balance between supply and demand.
- Experience working data-driven with analytical tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar.
- Very good communication skills in both Swedish and English, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with planning systems (e.g., SAP IBP/APO or equivalent).
- Experience from an international and cross-functional environment.
