About the assignment
We at Novare are a proud and approved supplier under the Swedish government framework agreement. We are now looking for an accounting assistant for Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.
As an accounting assistant at the authority, you will become part of the authority's finance function. Your work group currently consists of approximately 11 employees with various roles within finance and administration. Your main tasks will include accounting, bookkeeping, economic project reporting, and coding. You will become a vital part of the authority's work.
We are looking for you who are analytical, meticulous, and unpretentious. You work in a structured manner and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You are an engaged team player with good communication skills.

Examples of overall responsibilities

• Ensure good accounting in accordance with internal and external regulations
• Economic project reporting to funders
• Interpretation of terms from funders and other contracting parties
• Work with accounting and bookkeeping
• Work in financial systems (e.g., Raindance, Hypergene)
• Coding
• Work with supplier and customer accounts
• Participate in closing accounts
• Answer inquiries regarding payments in and out.

Requirements for the position

• University education in economics or equivalent, and at least three (3) years of work experience from similar work. Alternatively, high school or equivalent education and five (5) years of work experience as an accounting assistant
• Experience in similar financial work
• Experience with accounting, budgeting, and closing accounts
• Good knowledge of MS Office or equivalent
• Good knowledge of financial systems (e.g., Unit 4 ERP, Raindance, Hypergene, Visma, etc.)
• Can communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Meritorious requirements for the position

• Experience in financial work within higher education/universities or similar research activities
• Experience with the systems Raindance and Hypergene
• Experience with project accounting.

Assignment period and extent
The assignment is full-time with a planned start date of August 11 and runs until 2027-01-31. The location is at the authority in Gothenburg, with the possibility of some remote work.
