The Preschool and Primary School Administration is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments, with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation – preschool, primary school, and child and student health services – we are here for children and students. Together, we shape the future.

Valinge Preschool is located in the small community of Valinge, approximately 15 kilometers east of Varberg, surrounded by forests and meadows. The preschool has access to two buildings situated next to each other with a shared yard.

There is space for 34 children, divided into two units.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a childcare worker with us, you are one of the most important adults in the children's lives. You ensure that their day at the preschool is fun, safe, and educational. The position is distributed over two days a week, Monday and Tuesday.

Main responsibilities:

• Create a safe and inspiring daily routine where every child is met with competence and warmth, and where you actively contribute to an environment where everyone feels included.
• Help children who need a little extra support. You find ways that work for each individual and work closely with your colleagues to ensure all children thrive.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of pedagogical work and use pedagogical documentation to follow the children's learning processes.
• Build trusting relationships with the children's guardians, where you together create the best conditions for the child's development and needs in the preschool.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are sensitive to the children's needs and have a natural ability to create security, where an inclusive approach is a matter of course so that everyone feels at home in the group.

You have good cooperation skills and enjoy contributing to a positive work team. Since life at the preschool is ever-changing, you are solution-focused and meet small and large challenges with a positive attitude and a calm confidence.

We are looking for you who:

• Have a high school education, specifically the Child and Youth Program (Barn- och fritidsprogrammet), or equivalent as assessed by the employer.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience with children in need of special support.
• Experience in working continuously with pedagogical documentation.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS

The position is distributed over two days a week, Monday and Tuesday.

• Salary form: Monthly salary.
• Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: 3-6 months, start date: 2026-08-17, end date: 2026-12-21.
