Högbyskolan, located in Hemse, is part of the Sudret school district covering Southern Gotland. It is a grades 1-9 school with just over 340 students and is one of five schools in the district. The other schools are Garda, Stånga, Havdhem, and Öja School.

At Högbyskolan, approximately 60 employees work, including a well-established student health team that collaborates across the entire school district. The goal is to create an equitable school where all students are given the best possible conditions to achieve good results.

Your responsibilities

The position involves teaching and mentorship at the intermediate level (grades 4-6). Together with other educators, you are responsible for teaching, mentorship, and resource support for the students. You will plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in accordance with the Swedish National Curriculum for Compulsory School, Preschool Class and the Recreation Centre (Lgr22) and other regulatory documents. Collaboration with colleagues, students, and guardians is central to creating a safe and developmental environment.

Your duties include planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in your subject, both individually and in collaboration with work teams. A key part of the job is systematically monitoring students' knowledge development. You work according to current routines for Individual Development Plans (IDP) and written assessments. The aim is to create a classroom environment where all students can succeed based on their prerequisites. In consultation with the student health team, relevant measures are implemented for students in need of additional support. You are responsible for maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
