About the role and your responsibilities

As a preschool teacher at Östertull Montessori Preschool, you work pedagogically and socially based on the organization's goals, guidelines, and relevant regulatory documents. You are well-versed in the current curriculum, and as a preschool teacher, you are responsible for the pedagogical content of the teaching, working to promote children's development and learning. Together with the work team, you plan, participate in, and follow up on teaching to ensure high quality and development within the organization.

As a preschool teacher with us, you work to create a safe, fun, and educational environment. You use the curriculum, Montessori pedagogy, and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as a foundation, tailored to each child's knowledge, experiences, and specific conditions. As a preschool teacher, you have primary responsibility for conducting reflection, documentation, and learning together with the work team and colleagues at the preschool.

We are looking for you

We are looking for you who are a certified preschool teacher and trained in Montessori pedagogy, preferably with work experience in teaching within a Montessori environment. We would also appreciate if you have experience working with younger children in Montessori activities. Naturally, you have a professional approach and work to build good relationships with guardians and colleagues. You are also flexible and can adapt to changing circumstances.

About the workplace

We are Lund's only municipal Montessori preschool and work according to Maria Montessori's philosophy and pedagogy. The educators focus on the child, value uninterrupted work periods, and support the child in their development towards becoming an independent and secure individual. With us, the prepared environment – together with Montessori materials – is a natural part of the operation. Our view of the child and our approach form the basis for the opportunities provided. The child's needs and interests drive the operation, and the pedagogical environment is aesthetically pleasing, well-prepared, and we offer materials adapted to the child's development.

Our preschool is located on a courtyard in central Lund, close to both culture and green areas. It is a small operation with approximately 26 children aged 1–5 years. The preschool is part of a principal's area with six preschools, and in all educational settings, the educators have clear guidelines, are consistent, and serve as good role models. Together, we contribute to the development of the quality and equity of the preschools.

At the Child and School Administration, we work to create equity and good conditions so that all children and students in our preschools, primary schools, and adapted primary schools can reach their goals. Together, we work for a unified and clear governance of preschool and school in a modern and efficient organization, with the goal of enabling world-class education.
