Welcome to our cozy school in Kiaby!

Here you will find proximity to nature and swimming, as well as a great collaboration with the school's parent association. At Kiaby School, we have 66 students distributed in age-heterogeneous classes from preschool class to grade 6. We have two after-school centers with approximately 40 enrolled students, and we are a total of about 10 educators helping out with the school and after-school activities.

At Kiaby School, we work for the equal value of all, to grow in meeting others, and to be able to communicate through different forms of expression. We have a close collaboration with Fjälkinge School, where we have some lessons during the school day, but also collaborate during holidays during the merger weeks.

Since it can be difficult to align working hours with the possibility of using public transport to and from Kiaby, it is an advantage if you can ensure that you can get to work without being dependent on local traffic.

Your role with us

As a student assistant, you work to help students in need of special support to provide a safe school and after-school environment for students with diabetes and RIK (Reactive Infectious Susceptibility).

You also support students in learning, development, and independence both individually and in groups with a low-affective approach. The work involves creating a safe environment and frameworks for the students with a focus on studies and conditions for developing cooperation and relationships at school. The work is carried out on behalf of the responsible teacher based on the current curriculum. You support students throughout the school day, both in the classroom and during breaks and in the after-school center, in meal and hygiene situations, as well as during other activities.

The work involves constant attention, analysis, and understanding of situations in and outside the classroom. In close collaboration with teachers, you strive to find individual solutions so that each student can benefit from the teaching in the best possible way. Understanding each other's professional roles is of utmost importance. Contact and cooperation with guardians is an important part of the work, as well as actively participating in the workplace's development and taking responsibility for your own personal competence development.

The work can be physically and mentally demanding. The work also includes opening and closing the after-school center.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have one of the following:

• High school diploma from the Child and Youth Program with a focus on pedagogical and social work
• Passed the vocational package Student Assistant within adult education or equivalent education as a student assistant within folk high school
• Degree/passed from equivalent education that the employer deems sufficiently extensive within pedagogy and children's development and learning.
• Meets parts of the educational requirements and has at least three years of work as a student assistant

We want you to have documented experience working as a student assistant, and it is an advantage if you have other experience of similar tasks. The ability to be sensitive to the student's needs is also a requirement. You need to have knowledge of and experience with diabetes and/or RIK.

You need to be able to choose courses of action within the pedagogical methods and techniques that the school works with. We also want you to have the ability to stimulate students in their development and have a good ability to meet children of school age. You are a patient, balanced, and stable person with a professional attitude and can handle situations that arise in a safe and calm manner.

To succeed in your task as a student assistant, it is important that you can take responsibility, have an empathetic ability, and can cooperate. Since the work can be physically demanding, it requires that you have good physical condition.

In order for us to be able to take a position on your application, you must attach a certificate of graduation/grades for your completed education. When we want to offer you the position, it is required that you show an extract from the police's criminal record so that we can employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.

Start Date

The position is a SÄVA (Special Agreed Terms) full-time position starting 2026-08-10 or according to agreement until 2027-06-18.
