The Department of Service Science is now seeking two student employees for the CHAMP project, an EU-funded education and development project focusing on creativity, cultural heritage, placemaking, and entrepreneurship. The project aims to develop master modules that strengthen future competencies within the Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI).

Responsibilities

The CHAMP project (Creativity, Heritage and Placemaking Module) addresses cultural heritage through placemaking and entrepreneurship, developing students' entrepreneurial, interdisciplinary, and digital skills to drive future work with cultural heritage.

The project connects academic theory with practical application through urban labs, fieldwork, and collaborative projects with academic institutions, companies, and municipal actors.

Your tasks will include, among other things:

  • Participating in the planning, coordination, and implementation of activities for master's students in the course Culture & Creativity Management, second specialization (SMMX22), together with the CHAMP project and the course coordinator
  • Contributing to the design of a concept for a master's module, for example by formulating core areas, learning objectives, and expected study results
  • Assisting in structuring teaching materials and resources
  • Participating in course planning, pedagogical development, and the integration of entrepreneurship, digital tools, and cultural heritage perspectives
  • Actively participating in the project's workshops, meetings, and student activities

As a student employee, you will also arrange and participate in meetings with students in the second specialization as well as with alumni.

Qualifications

According to Chapter 5, Section 10 of the Higher Education Ordinance, you must be admitted to education at the first or second cycle (bachelor's or master's level) to be employed as a teaching assistant/student employee.

Requirements

To be eligible for employment, you must:

  • be admitted to and starting your second year of the Master's program in Service Management
  • be on track with your studies
  • be responsible, flexible, and able to adapt to the needs of both the student group and the CHAMP project
  • be able to work independently
  • be able to participate in project meetings outside of Sweden
  • have very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written

Meritorious qualifications

  • Admitted to the master's specialization in Culture and Creativity Management
  • Completed the course SMMX22 (second specialization)
  • Previous experience in similar tasks
  • Experience working with events or projects

Other

The employment is a fixed-term position (teaching assistant/student employee) from September 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027. The extent of employment is 10% of full-time (9 months).

Employment is conditional upon the project funding agreement being signed.

The Faculty of Social Sciences at Lund University is one of the country's leading knowledge centers for research and education in social and behavioral sciences. The Department of Service Science belongs to the Faculty of Social Sciences and has its operations located at Campus Helsingborg. The department, established in 2000, is a successful interdisciplinary research and educational environment.

The department runs two bachelor's programs in Service Management. Furthermore, there is a master's program in Service Management with five specializations: Culture and Creativity Management, Retailing and Consumption, Supply Chain Service Management, Sustainable Service Management, and Tourism. The language of instruction at the bachelor's level is Swedish, and at the master's level, it is English.

The research at the department is based on current societal problems where the service sector is in focus. The research is organized into five interdisciplinary themes: Sustainability, resources, and services; management, organization, and work; tourism, place, and mobility; consumption, marketing, and retailing; and cultural and creative industries.
