About the role and your responsibilities

As a primary and lower secondary school teacher, you work pedagogically and socially based on the organization's goals and guidelines, as well as current regulatory documents. You are well-versed in the current curriculum and are responsible for the pedagogical content of the teaching, working to promote students' learning and development.

The position involves teaching Swedish and English in grades 7–9. The role entails planning, conducting, and evaluating teaching in line with the curriculum's intentions. You plan the work in a goal-oriented manner and follow up on, assess, and document students' knowledge development.

We assume that you view students from a holistic perspective and have a positive attitude towards students, parents, and colleagues. Your positive outlook on students' diverse abilities makes you receptive to and interested in their thoughts and interests, using these as a starting point in teaching. An important part of the job is also to identify developmental needs and drive progress towards our common goals.

You will collaborate closely with experienced colleagues in the subject group and serve as a mentor.

We are looking for you

We are looking for you who are a certified primary and lower secondary school teacher for the intended subjects and grades. Previous experience teaching Swedish as a second language is an advantage. You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's regulatory documents and can apply these pedagogically in your daily work.

About the workplace

Järnåkraskolan hosts grades 4–9 with approximately 520 students. The lower grades are two-parallel, and grades 7–9 are four-parallel. We also have classes with a handball profile for upper secondary students. We are approximately 55 employees working together and closely with students to create accessible and secure learning environments. We value building good relationships with each other and with our students. In our development work, we focus on accessible learning environments and language- and knowledge-developing approaches. Our employees are organized in work teams.
