Your role with us

The position is located in the working group for grades Pre-K to 3, where you will teach in grade 1 during the upcoming school year together with two teaching colleagues. We strive for an organization with two teachers per class because we see that this creates the best conditions for both teaching and student learning.

As a teacher with us, you are part of an engaged working team where collaboration, collegial learning, and shared responsibility for student development are central parts of the assignment. You have close access to support through the school's well-functioning support structures, student health services, colleagues, and the principal.

In the role of a teacher, you stimulate students' curiosity, desire to learn, and sense of responsibility. Through clear and secure leadership, both inside and outside the classroom, you create a learning environment characterized by respect, participation, and good relationships.

You plan, implement, follow up, and evaluate teaching based on the goals of the curriculum and the students' needs. With high and positive expectations for all students, you adapt the teaching to give each student the best possible conditions for success.

We value a relational approach where dialogue, trust, and collaboration with students, guardians, and colleagues are a natural part of the work. Digital tools and documentation are used as support in teaching and in systematic quality work. Together with colleagues, you actively contribute to the school's development and work to continuously improve the operations.

If you are new to the teaching profession, we offer mentorship support to give you a secure start in your profession. If you are an unqualified teacher, you may conduct teaching, while responsibility for grading and the overall responsibility for teaching lies with a certified teacher.

Who are we looking for?

We are primarily looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to conduct teaching in pre-school class as well as grades 1-3 in the subjects Swedish, Math, English, Social Studies, or Natural Sciences in primary school.

Secondarily, we welcome you who have subject knowledge at the university level within the above areas. Pedagogical education and previous experience of working in primary school or teaching children and students are seen as an advantage.

We are looking for you who have the ability to adapt teaching based on students' different prerequisites and needs. You create teaching characterized by clear expectations, study environment, and desire to learn. Experience of meeting students in need of special support is meritorious, as is the ability to support students in social development and conflict management.

As a person, you are engaged, positive, and have a genuine interest in students' learning and development. You are a secure pedagogical leader who builds trustful relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Through a professional approach, you contribute to a good work environment and good collaboration in the working team.

We value that you are development-oriented and reflect on both your own and the operations' working methods to contribute to the school's continued development. You use digital tools as a natural part of teaching, planning, communication, and documentation.

To thrive in the role, you need to be communicative, receptive, and well-rooted in the ethical principles of the teaching profession. You have a good ability to analyze, follow up, and document students' knowledge development and create conditions for all students to succeed.

In order for us to process your application, you need to attach your degree certificate and teaching license. If a qualified and certified teacher is not available, a time-limited employment of an unqualified teacher may take place according to the provisions of the School Act.

Österslövs School is a small and secure single-grade F–3 school just outside Kristianstad with approximately 110 students. Our size creates closeness between students, guardians, and staff, which provides good conditions for strong relationships and a shared responsibility for the students' development.
