Malmö Latin School is looking for a study and career counselor for a 30% temporary position during the academic year 2026/27. Work with us and help shape the future of society and the people of Malmö!
Responsibilities
In this role, you will guide and inform students, prospective students, and visitors about study and career opportunities. You will primarily work with our students on the Individual Alternative (IA) introductory program, supporting them in gaining increased knowledge about themselves, their options, and future paths. Through counseling sessions, follow-up of study plans, and coordination of the school's work-based learning (APL), you create the conditions for students to make thoughtful and sustainable choices.
As part of the school's student health team, you contribute your expertise to support students in their development. You collaborate with study and career counselors across the city to strengthen students' understanding of working life and education. Together with your colleagues, you develop guidance and contribute to a learning and sustainable organization.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Study and Career Counseling (180 ECTS)
- Experience working with children and young people
- Good knowledge of school goals and governing documents
- Good digital competence
- Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Meritorious qualifications:
- Experience working as a study and career counselor with familiarity in close contact with the business community
- Experience working in upper secondary school or classes in lower secondary school
- Experience working in the upper secondary school's introductory program (IA)
- Good experience collaborating with other authorities and participating in various networks.
For this position, you must be solution-focused and adapt your working methods based on the students' needs and changing circumstances. With an analytical and pedagogical approach, you see connections and help students explore their possibilities. You have good collaboration skills and contribute to the development of both individuals and the organization. Your work is characterized by a listening and relational approach, and you plan, organize, and prioritize your work in a structured and efficient manner. You value differences and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect oneself and others.
