Gärsnäs School has an after-school center with approximately 70 enrolled students. The school has a lovely playground with ample space for activities and other pedagogical initiatives. Today, we have 140 students distributed from preschool class to grade 6.

We work promotively and preventively throughout the school and have an active and present student health team. The atmosphere here is open and relaxed – we laugh often, support each other, and work together towards set goals. We believe that curiosity, joy, and enthusiasm are important prerequisites for learning.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher at our after-school center, you will have a key role in creating a meaningful, developmental, and secure after-school activity for our students. Together with dedicated colleagues, you plan and conduct education based on the curriculum and steering documents, always with the student's learning and well-being in focus.

You are passionate about meeting every student where they are. Through your pedagogical leadership, you support students' knowledge development while strengthening their self-esteem, social skills, and desire to learn. You find creative strategies that help every student grow.

During the school day, you work closely with the mentor in the classroom. You collaborate with teachers and the student health team and are an important part of adapting education based on students' needs.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher for the after-school center and have experience working in an after-school setting. If you also have experience working with students in need of special support, we view this as meritorious. You have a genuine interest in after-school center development and wish to actively contribute to ensuring that students at Gärsnäs School are offered a high-quality and meaningful after-school program.

You are an active and initiative-taking person who has the ability to plan, organize, and conduct activities both independently and together with colleagues. You also want to help drive and develop the after-school center's operations forward.

In your professional role, you use your competence and experience to ensure that the education in the after-school center has a clear connection to the school's steering documents and is based on the students' needs and the abilities that the activity is to develop. You are also an important resource in the classroom where you support and help students with different needs for support.
