About the position

Responsibilities

Pär Lagerkvist School is located in the new district of Bredvik, approximately 5 km from Växjö city center. Bredvik is situated along the western shore of Norra Bergundasjön, close to forests and nature. The school was established in 2017 and is an F-9 school (preschool class to grade 9) with approximately 700 students. A preschool is also located in the same building. The school features a language track aimed at developing students' linguistic abilities, spanning from preschool class to grade 9.

Our mission is to support the development and learning of children and students from a 1–16 perspective. Collaboration occurs between the preschool and the school to support children and students during transitions between different stages. The goal of this 1–16 perspective is to jointly offer a creative and challenging learning environment.

The facilities for grades F-6 are located in the eastern part of the building with an inviting schoolyard. Pär Lagerkvist School has three after-school care departments, divided into preschool class, grades 1–2, and grades 3–6. The after-school departments are located adjacent to our classrooms. We have good opportunities to utilize the school's library, dance room, and gymnasium.

Pär Lagerkvist School is a relationship-building school where we work to create safety and well-being through present educators. Together with the students, we aim to develop and ensure that the school is a place where one is seen, challenged, and succeeds based on each individual's specific conditions. Our goal is to create an accessible learning environment that permeates the work in the school. We work based on differentiated instruction and conscious leadership.

In this position, you will be responsible for creating teaching that gives students the opportunity to develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, aesthetically, and physically. You will plan, implement, and evaluate the pedagogical work, both independently and together with your work team. You will work closely with other teachers and staff to create a holistic approach to students' learning and development.

Organized recess activities are a significant safety-building activity that you will be part of. Another important part of your role is to communicate with guardians regarding students' well-being and progress. Based on your education and previous experience, the goal is to shape a position that suits both you and our operations.

Qualifications

We are currently looking for two educators who have a degree/teacher certification as a teacher in after-school care (fritidshem).

You exercise clear leadership and work structured based on current governing documents and a professional approach.

You are an engaged, reflective, and driven teacher. Together with colleagues, you are responsible for creating structured and varied teaching. You plan and evaluate teaching based on the analysis of student results. You actively work to support and motivate your students in their development, both academically and socially. You contribute to creating good learning environments so that the student feels curiosity and a desire to learn.

All teachers are part of collegial learning where teaching is in focus.
