The City of Sundbyberg is currently developing a new central function with development teachers who will support schools in targeted development initiatives related to teaching, goal achievement, and school development. We are now looking for two development teachers – one with a focus on mathematics and one with a focus on Swedish as a second language.

As a development teacher, you work closely with school leadership and teachers at various schools in the city. The assignment involves mapping teaching and learning environments, analyzing underlying causes of low goal achievement or result differences, and supporting the development of teaching, classroom leadership, and working methods.

This is a position for you who want to combine high pedagogical competence with development work at both the teaching and organizational levels.

About the assignment

As a development teacher, you will:

  • conduct mappings through, for example, observations, result, and operational analysis
  • analyze teaching and identify areas for development
  • lead professional dialogues with teachers and school leadership
  • support the development of teaching and classroom leadership
  • contribute to the development of sustainable structures and working methods in schools
  • draw up action plans and follow up on development initiatives
  • collaborate with the principal regarding organization, structure, and follow-up
  • contribute to the principal's systematic quality work

The assignments are carried out at various schools based on identified needs and are part of the city's work for increased equality and improved student results.

We are looking for you who

  • are a certified teacher with qualifications in mathematics or Swedish as a second language
  • have several years of experience in teaching with good results
  • have experience in school development and collegial learning
  • have very good ability to analyze teaching and results
  • are confident in leading professional conversations and development processes
  • have good collaboration skills and the ability to create trusting relationships
  • work independently, structured, and solution-oriented

Qualifications

It is a requirement that you:

  • are a certified teacher with qualifications in mathematics or Swedish as a second language
  • have experience of similar development assignments at a central level, or alternatively have worked as a lead teacher
  • have experience of mentoring and supporting colleagues in teaching development

It is meritorious if you:

  • have special educational needs competence or special educational training
  • have experience of observations and feedback on teaching
  • have experience of working with equality, language- and knowledge-developing working methods, or students in need of support
  • have experience of working closely with school leadership on development issues

Employment

The positions are permanent full-time positions with a central placement within the City of Sundbyberg and assignments at various schools in the municipality.

Start date according to agreement.

The positions are holiday positions.

Before employment, the employer will require you to show an extract from the police's suspicion and criminal record register.
