About the RoleYou will step into a socially important planning project where geotechnical assessments are crucial for determining whether a new distribution station can be implemented in a safe and sustainable manner. The assignment involves complementing previous geotechnical data in a detailed planning process and translating authority requirements into clear recommendations for further planning and implementation. You will work closely with the client and other specialists on issues regarding ground suitability, foundation, stability, settlements, landslides, erosion, groundwater, and climate impact. This is a role for you who want to influence both technical choices and the feasibility of the plan in a project with clear social benefits.
Responsibilities- You analyze existing geotechnical data and assess what additional investigations are needed.
- You plan and carry out additional geotechnical investigations as needed, including drilling plans prior to sampling.
- You produce geotechnical assessments for topography, soil composition, surface and groundwater conditions, foundation, radon, and the suitability of the ground for construction.
- You conduct risk assessments according to the Swedish Transport Administration's requirements and develop measures to manage geotechnical risks during and after construction.
- You provide advice on the design of the detailed planning proposal and contribute to discussions on necessary and appropriate measures within the planning area.
- You collaborate with other consultants in areas such as stormwater, design, and species protection to create a sustainable and feasible planning proposal.
- You compile reports and map data and ensure deliveries in relevant formats such as PDF, SHP, and DWG.
- You also assist with supplementary data and statements if the planning process is appealed.
- You have at least 9 years of documented experience in conducting geotechnical investigations.
- You have experience working in detailed planning processes and producing data for assessing suitability and feasibility.
- You have conducted or been involved in at least one similar assignment involving geotechnical investigation and risk assessment according to the Swedish Transport Administration's requirements.
- You have good knowledge of SGF's geotechnical field manual and Eurocode 7 for the design of geotechnical structures.
- You can produce assessments and recommendations regarding stability, settlements, landslides, erosion, groundwater, and impact under changed climate conditions.
- You can document and deliver geotechnical reports and geodata according to set requirements, including SHP and DWG data.
- Sampling must be performed by a certified sampler for soil/groundwater according to Nordtest Envir 008.
- You communicate fluently in Swedish.
