We are now looking for a Vehicle Engineer who wants to drive technological development, improvement work, and investments related to our locomotives and wagons.

What you will do here
As a Vehicle Engineer, you play a central role in developing, analyzing, and ensuring the performance of our vehicles. You combine technical expertise with project management and work both strategically and operationally.
Your responsibilities include among other things:
- Being technically responsible for selected vehicle types, both locomotives and wagons
- Driving development, conversion, and procurement projects as a technical project manager
- Analyzing technical and economic performance and identifying improvement measures
- Developing specifications for procurements and investments
- Providing decision support for investment decisions
- Ensuring that vehicle documentation is correct and up-to-date
In this role, you work closely with both internal functions and external suppliers, actively contributing to the development of efficient and sustainable solutions for our fleet.

You are communicative, have an easy time collaborating, and are confident in making decisions based on technical and economic data. You have a structured working method and a strong drive to improve and develop both technology and working methods.
We see that you have:
Requirements
- Engineering degree from university/college
- At least 5 years of experience in technical engineering work within the railway industry
- Experience in technical project management
- Good general IT competence
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Merits
- Experience from working with a railway operator
- Experience with procurements and technical development projects
- Knowledge of technical subsystems within railway vehicles (e.g., braking, traction, or signaling systems)
Other information
The position is a permanent full-time employment with an initial probationary period, start date by agreement. Place of work with Stockholm as the preferred location, other alternatives can be discussed. Travel is included in the position. In addition to the possibility of working from home one day a week, we offer a fixed monthly salary, wellness allowance, compensation for medical care and medication, pension, and insurance according to collective agreement.
As part of the recruitment process, we will use tests. Final candidates undergo a background check. We are a drug- and alcohol-free workplace where random checks occur. Employment entails an obligation to be placed on war service.
