Östra School in Färjestaden is now looking for you who has experience and competence in balancing care and pedagogy. You enjoy a job that makes a difference and are driven by taking significant personal responsibility in your role as a student assistant. You like teamwork and see after-school activities as an important and fun part of the workplace.

During the school day, your task is to support a 12-year-old boy in the classroom, during breaks, in meal and hygiene situations, as well as during other activities. You are highly involved in planning the student's school day, adapting tasks, and collaborating with teaching teachers, mentors, the work team, EHT (Educational and Therapeutic Support Team), and other authorities such as habilitation services and speech therapists.

In the afternoons, you are an engaged after-school leader who, together with our skilled after-school team, runs a developmental and rewarding after-school program. You have experience in the school environment and play a clear leadership role with a sensitive approach when interacting with students.

In your role as a student assistant, you will meet and get to know a boy with a twinkle in his eye. With your humor, creativity, flexibility, and good empathetic ability, you help and support our student who needs special support for learning, development, and independence. You are a service-oriented person who is positive, cheerful, solution-focused, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions.

Your duties as a student assistant also include:

• Assisting the student with hygiene situations
• Communicating with guardians
• Assisting the student in a wheelchair with transfers (which may include lifting) and acting as an escort during the school bus ride

We are looking for someone with a childcare education and a nurse assistant education, as well as experience working as an after-school leader.

The work requires good oral and written skills in Swedish. Knowledge of sign language/signs as support is mandatory.
