About the Learning and Culture Administration

The schools in Nybro Municipality aim to give every child and student the best conditions for success. In Nybro Municipality, children, students, and guardians meet well-educated and dedicated educators, teachers, principals, and staff who all strive to create a safe school environment with educational quality in focus.

The Culture Unit aims to provide residents with good access to culture and strengthen cultural associations so they can conduct a wide range of cultural activities. The Learning and Culture Administration in Nybro Municipality operates preschools, preschool classes, comprehensive schools, adapted comprehensive schools, school-age childcare, upper secondary schools, as well as municipal adult education with Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) and special education for adults.

Within the administration, there is training in glass craftsmanship through the National Glass School in Pukeberg, as well as commissioned courses and vocational higher education courses. The Learning and Culture Administration is also responsible for libraries, music and arts schools, a culture house with a cinema, youth centers, and general cultural issues. About Åkrahäll Upper Secondary School

Åkrahäll is the upper secondary school with commitment! For us, this means we go the extra mile to ensure students succeed as well as possible, that we work actively with student influence, and that we try to tailor studies to individual needs and interests. This in turn means that the atmosphere at the school is very good, both among students and staff. We have approximately 500 students and 8 national programs, including university-preparatory and vocational programs, as well as introductory programs.

Responsibilities

You will be part of the local student health team at the upper secondary school and will be part of their work group. The work group consists of seven counselors, a school nurse, special education teachers, and safety pedagogues. The work group is led by a coordinator and is subordinate to one of the principals. The student health team participates in monitoring absenteeism, meetings with teachers, students, and parents, as well as planning preventive work at the school.

You will also be part of a network of all study and career counselors in Nybro Municipality.

The responsibilities include motivational conversations, guidance of upper secondary students, and information to different student groups, among other related tasks.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a study and career counselor, preferably with experience from upper secondary school.

You have good communication skills and are skilled in counseling methods. You are solution-oriented, interested in young people, and have insight into the different conditions of different individuals. You are good at conveying goals and motivating people around you. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Professional experience and working life experience are required.
