We have vacancies during the next academic year and hope that you are the one who wants and can become part of the music teaching team.

The position is a fixed-term appointment for the academic year 2026/2027.

We are looking for you who:

• Are a natural educator with documented experience.
• Can teach both individually and in groups or classes.
• Understand and can handle the social-pedagogical aspects of the teaching role, e.g., mentorship.
• Are accustomed to collaborating in larger and smaller groups.
• Can teach music theory, music history, and at least one instrument. We would appreciate if you could also teach piano for practical use, electric bass/upright bass, or singing.

Oskarshamn Folk High School offers several different music programs with capacity for approximately 60 students. The teachers on these programs form a joint working team of 8 permanent staff members, supplemented by some hourly teachers. Parts of the teaching are cross-line, meaning that all teachers interact with students from various programs.

The ongoing work is led by the education manager, and your direct supervisor will be the school principal. Teaching here means that, in addition to your own lessons, you are expected to be part of the joint work with applications, marketing, concert activities, and development work. Schedule-breaking events such as theme days, trips, or outdoor days are part of your job.

The position is a permanent appointment in the form of a holiday service contract (ferietjänst) starting in Autumn Term 2026 (HT26). A holiday service contract means that the average weekly working time is 44 hours, and the teaching obligation is 16 hours/week during the terms. Working on weekends and in the evenings may occur in connection with projects and concerts.

Oskarshamn Folk High School is a foundation, and the operations are overseen by the Diocese of Växjö. The school offers, among other things, a General Line with various specializations, a Music Line, a Preparatory Church Music Program, a Church Music Program (full-time, part-time, and distance), an Assistant Nurse Program, the Church's Basic Course, and Senior Courses. The school has a public lunch restaurant, extensive conference facilities, and a hostel. There are approximately 40 employees in total. In Oskarshamn, there is also a cultural school, an arts high school, a jazz and chamber music association, and the County Music Center, which includes the professional string orchestra Camerata Nordica.
