About the Learning and Culture Administration

The schools in Nybro Municipality aim to give every child and student the best conditions for success. In Nybro Municipality, children, students, and guardians are met by well-educated and engaged educators, teachers, principals, and staff who all strive to create a safe school environment with education quality in focus.

Culture aims to give residents good access to culture and strengthen cultural associations so they can conduct a range of cultural activities. The Learning and Culture Administration in Nybro Municipality operates preschool, preschool class, comprehensive school, adapted comprehensive school, school-age childcare, upper secondary school, as well as municipal adult education with Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) and special education for adults.

Within the administration, there is education in glass craftsmanship through the National Glass School in Pukeberg, as well as commissioned education and education within the university college. The Learning and Culture Administration is also responsible for libraries, music and arts school, culture house with cinema, youth center activities, and general cultural issues. About the Position

We work in teams regarding native language and study support in Nybro Municipality. We have a positive and constructive atmosphere in the staff group with both tradition and innovation. The collegium has broad experience in receiving students from many cultures.

The starting point is Fagerslättsskolan where joint staff meetings are held.

The position will be distributed among all schools in the municipality based on student needs. There are 6 positions available.

Job Responsibilities

You will work both independently and in teams. It is expected that you participate in our various pedagogical meetings and APT (Analysis, Planning, Follow-up, and Evaluation) meetings according to your employment percentage. Study support in native language for other subjects will occur. The work is located at different schools in the municipality, which means you will move around during the workday. The position also involves significant contact with guardians, attendance reporting, lesson planning, etc.

We are looking for you who are engaged, interested in language development, and goal-oriented. We place great importance on your ability to collaborate and communicate with students, colleagues, and guardians, as well as your ability to independently conduct your teaching based on regulatory documents. Knowledge of the curriculum for the subject of native language, pedagogical planning, assessment descriptions, and grading is meritorious.

You want to be a role model and contribute to good study results. You are open and welcoming in meetings with others, have the courage to think new thoughts, and the drive to turn thoughts into action. You are accustomed to handling digital learning tools that are a natural part of your practice, as well as collaborating with other educators/teachers regarding planning and execution of teaching in accordance with the curriculum.

The employment percentage is 5–10%, determined by language and student base. In Nybro, native language and study support are conducted as part of the teaching out at the schools.

Qualifications

You have very good knowledge of the native language and of the culture and traditions in the areas/countries where the native language is spoken. We assume that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language as well as insight into Swedish culture and tradition. You have a university education and experience in teaching. You also have documented experience of previous work with native language within preschool/comprehensive school and upper secondary school. You have a clear pedagogical idea of how you can support the development of each student based on the intentions of the curriculum and regulatory documents.
