Your responsibilities

We are healthier and living longer than before, and seniors today have new wishes, interests, and needs. As an Activity Leader, you influence how we meet these needs by developing and creating a modern and attractive meeting place. A vibrant environment for the city's seniors characterized by community, health, and meaningfulness.

You work preventively and health-promoting with the goal of strengthening seniors' well-being, participation, and quality of life. You are independently responsible for the operations, and the work is varied. This means that you plan, lead, and develop activities based on the visitors' interests and needs. This can include conversation meetings, lectures, and physical activity. By encouraging and inspiring the seniors to participate and organize events themselves, we build an active meeting place.

You collaborate with associations, organizations, and colleagues from other meeting places. You are skilled at thinking new thoughts and creating new collaborations to develop activities and create meaningful content. The responsibilities also include handling practical tasks related to the daily life of the meeting place to ensure the operations run smoothly.

Your qualifications

You have a genuine interest in the target group of older adults and are motivated by strengthening their independence and well-being. We are looking for you with a post-secondary education. You have experience working in healthcare and social care or social work. We also view it positively if you have experience in health-promoting work with the target group of older adults, activity planning, or collaboration with external actors. We would like you to have a B driver's license as the position may involve working at several of our meeting places, but a driver's license is not a requirement.

As a person, you are secure, self-reliant, and proactive. You enjoy building good relationships, collaborating, and can easily adapt to new situations with people with different needs. You are creative and enjoy combining planning and leadership with practical tasks in everyday life. Your IT skills are good, and you are comfortable with digital tools. Experience in digital communication and marketing, as well as good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, are meritorious for the position.

The position is located at Bäckby Meeting Place in Bäckbyhuset, a vibrant and multicultural meeting place where people of different ages and backgrounds meet. Several operations are gathered under the same roof here, creating good opportunities for collaboration and cross-generational activities.

You will belong to the preventive unit, an exciting operation within the Care and Social Services Administration. At the unit, digital mentors, relatives' consultants, 'arosfixare' (social navigators), senior guides, vision and hearing instructors, activity leaders, development leaders, and operational developers work. Together, we work to promote health, community, and participation among seniors.

Additional information

We are seeking two positions; one permanent position and one fixed-term position with a resource function in the form of a special fixed-term employment (SÄVA). The fixed-term employment covers 11 months with a planned start in September 2026.

Activities may take place in the evenings and on weekends.

Before you can be employed, you need to show a clean extract from the police criminal record.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of personal status together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
