We are looking for a personal assistant for a 49-year-old man with an acquired brain injury and a tracheostomy. Since the individual manages his own assistance as his own employer, no assistance agency is involved. He is wheelchair-bound and has a high care need due to limited physical abilities. He is a positive man with a good sense of humor and a strong fighting spirit. Therefore, it is important that you, as an applicant, have a positive and engaged attitude, as well as good collaboration skills with both the individual and your colleagues. The position involves double assistance between 08:00 and 22:00 every day.

As the individual has difficulty speaking and has poor hearing, it is important that you are perceptive and open to alternative forms of communication, such as writing, sign language, or facial expressions.

In addition to routine tasks such as personal care and household chores, the duties include:

• Managing a tracheostomy, including suctioning, cough assist machine, and oxygen therapy
• Assistance with feeding via tube/button and mouth
• Operating a ceiling lift
• Rehabilitation and training

There is a strong focus on training and rehabilitation, including the use of standing frames, tilt tables, and recumbent bikes. Therefore, it is highly advantageous if you have knowledge or interest in this area and possess a relatively good physical condition. Experience with tracheostomies is also highly valued.

Requirements for the position:

• Experience and/or education as a nursing assistant or personal assistant
• Non-smoker
• Female applicants only
• Fluent Swedish in both speech and writing
• Certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record)
