At the Rehabilitation Department, we are a cheerful group of mixed professions, and we place great emphasis on health and health-promoting activities. Our Health Team is an active group that ensures health-promoting activities are planned in our health calendar. New fun activities every month and recurring challenges are on the agenda.

Job Responsibilities

As a counselor, you collaborate in interdisciplinary teams with other staff members at the hospital's clinics and wards. Your tasks involve psychosocial assessment and treatment work with patients, both individually and in teams on the wards and in clinics.

About the Workplace

Currently, four counselors work at the Rehabilitation Department. We also employ physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, dietitians, nursing assistants, and nurses. We often work in teams. You are welcome to a positive operation characterized by openness and participation. We are active on all hospital wards and also work in an outpatient setting. We offer inpatient rehabilitation for stroke and geriatrics, as well as individual and group therapy in various areas.

The clinic has a primary care emergency unit with an acute care unit and three inpatient wards. There is also a dialysis clinic, a medication clinic with day medicine, advanced home care, and the rehabilitation unit.

Västmanlands Hospital in Köping is highly skilled in stroke care and ranks at the top in national comparisons. Köping Hospital has received awards from Riksstroke several times, both as the Stroke Unit of the Year and for designation as good stroke care.

The hospital is located very close to the railway station, just a three-minute walk away. Commuting to Köping is easy by train: Örebro – Köping 33 min, Västerås – Köping 17 min, Eskilstuna – Köping 54 min.

Qualifications

You, the applicant, are a trained social worker, preferably with experience working as a counselor in inpatient care. It is an advantage if you have completed Step 1 CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) training.

You are a person who can make independent decisions and work autonomously as well as in a team. Since the work and conditions are constantly changing, you must be able to adapt to new circumstances and quickly change your perspective. You remain calm and controlled in stressful situations and can focus on the right things. Your ability to work with other people is good, and you listen and communicate in a constructive manner. You are interested and driven in developing the work. Your ideas and thinking are put into practice and lead to results.

Experience working in the medical record system Cosmic is an advantage.

A B-class driver's license is required.

Employment Terms

Temporary position for 11 months with possibility of extension, full-time or part-time.

Start date by agreement.
