At our company, it is important that every individual receives the right support and care in their daily life. We are now looking for flexible and reliable hourly substitutes in Västerås who can cover for regular staff absences – ensuring our customers always feel secure in receiving the assistance they are entitled to. As a personal assistant, your task is to use competence, commitment, and warmth to create conditions for every person to live as independent and meaningful a life as possible, based on their own needs.

Our customers are all unique and have different types of disabilities, needs, and interventions. The job as a personal assistant with us may include, among other things, privacy-sensitive care, dressing and undressing, help with meals, tube feeding, medical interventions, transfers, mobility training, breathing aids, alternative and augmentative communication, and assistance with leisure activities outside the home. Many of our customers have significant care needs and require active supervision for large parts of the day. An assistant must then be in the customer's immediate vicinity at all times to ensure security, safety, and well-being.

Many of our customers do not have their own spoken language and communicate instead in a variety of other ways; including through body language, facial expressions, eye movements, gestures, and sounds, as well as through aids such as picture supports, sign language supports, and various digital solutions. In the role of a personal assistant, it is therefore important that you are perceptive, curious, and willing to learn the customer's way of communicating.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who are empathetic and have the ability to put yourself in our customers' life situations and who understand the difference personal assistance can make for each individual's quality of life. Important qualities for you to work in our team are that you find it easy to collaborate with all individuals, that you have clear and direct communication, that you are a quick learner, structured, and good at reading other people. We highly value that you can vary between playfulness, fun, and patience, and that you can be yourself, as many of our customers are children who have a lovely sense of humor and are motivated by social interaction on their level. You need to be physically fit, as the work requires full mobility and strength. It is important that you have a sense of privacy, as the work takes place in a family's home, which means you need to collaborate with relatives, parents, and siblings.

About the position

The position is an hourly employment with one or more of our customers, and we see a great advantage in being able to combine employments with several of our customers with similar needs. In this way, there is a greater possibility to reach the required hours and adjust how much you work. An interview will take place at each customer's home before any employment, as the customer themselves has the right to choose their assistants.

Working hours: Day, evening, weekend, and night (includes awake nights or on-call duties)

Employment type: Hourly employment

Salary: Fixed hourly wage according to agreement. Other compensations according to collective agreement.

Start date: Immediately or according to agreement for introduction

Requirements for this position:

• Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Non-smoker, as we are a smoke-free workplace.
• Experience working with people with disabilities, medical interventions, and knowledge of alternative communication methods is meritorious.
• It is desirable that you have a Category B driver's license for manual transmission, but it is not a requirement.
• Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

When working with children

Work with children with disabilities is subject to register control requirements according to the Act (2010:479) on register control of personnel who perform certain interventions for children with disabilities. An extract from the criminal record must be presented as a final step in the recruitment process before employment can become current.

When working with the elderly or adults with disabilities

Work in the home of elderly persons or adults with disabilities is subject to register control according to the Act (2026:43) on register control when working in the home for elderly persons or adults with disabilities. The law applies from March 1, 2026. In support of the law, we as a company have a policy to request extracts from the criminal record in connection with new hires. The register control is carried out as a final step in the recruitment process and is part of our overall suitability assessment.
