We are currently looking for several personal assistants and substitutes for Arboga Municipality. Within the Social Services Administration, the Functional Support operations are responsible for providing support and services in accordance with the LSS Act (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Functionally Disabled Persons). LSS is a rights-based law designed to guarantee people with extensive and permanent disabilities good living conditions, the help they need in daily life, and the ability to influence the support and services they receive.
Job Responsibilities
In the role of a personal assistant, you are responsible for:
- Assisting the user with basic needs, medical care, support at home, and during various activities. This may include assistance with bathing, horse riding, and other activities.
- Demonstrating high sensitivity towards the user, as well as flexibility regarding schedules and workplace.
Working as a personal assistant means assisting another human being with everything that entails. The user should be given the greatest possible scope to make their own decisions about their life. Sometimes the job simply means being on hand, ready, and willing to assist.
Qualifications
To succeed in the role of a personal assistant, we look for you to have:
- Education in care, child and youth activities, health and wellness, personal assistance, and/or other education/experience deemed suitable by the employer.
- A genuine interest in working with people, a professional attitude, teamwork skills, attention to detail, responsibility, and the ability to thrive within given frameworks.
- Experience using digital tools such as computers and mobile phones.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
The following are considered meritorious for the role of personal assistant:
- Experience working as a personal assistant and/or experience from the disability sector through previous work, assignments, or personal relationships.
- Good physical fitness, as the work involves some transfers (assistive devices are available) and engagement in various activities both inside and outside the home.
- An interest in physical activities and a desire to motivate others in their development. You should also be interested in your own professional development. Personal suitability is highly valued.
Conditions
Some of the positions are fixed-term appointments of at least 6 months with a workload of 80-100%, while others are hourly substitute positions.
Scheduled working hours include days, evenings, and weekends.
Start date: As soon as possible, subject to agreement.
A certificate of good conduct (extract from the police register) is required, which can be ordered via polisen.se.
Salary
Monthly salary with individual salary setting.
