One of our social secretaries working as a child follow-up officer has moved on to new challenges, so now we need you who want to work in a operation focused on doing the best possible for our children and young people in the municipality. Have we caught your interest? Then this is a job for you!
Description
The Individual and Family Care department is looking for a social worker to work as a child follow-up officer for the Child and Family Unit. The position means that you are the specifically appointed social secretary for children placed in foster care. You maintain contact with the child to ensure their well-being, work to ensure the child's needs for schooling and health care are met, and assess the need for continued care.
As a child follow-up officer, you actively work for the tripartite parenthood concept, which involves contact with the child, parents, networks, and foster homes. You also have contact with guardians ad litem, specially appointed custodians, and partners within, among others, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), schools/preschools, and habilitation services.
You document in our operational system, Lifecare.
Since many of our children placed in foster care are placed outside the municipality, the job also involves longer travel during working hours.
What can we offer you?
We who work here are knowledgeable and engaged in our work, and we value each other and a good atmosphere in the groups. We want our work to be characterized by consensus, quality, and legal certainty, and we believe it is important to develop in our work.
You will join a functioning work group with close leadership. We are in an exciting phase where we are developing both the support to foster homes and the work to do the best possible for our placed children. You will be part of the Placement Team, consisting of two other child follow-up officers, four foster care secretaries, and a team leader. At the Child and Family unit, there are two additional teams: a Reception/Investigation Team and an Open Care Team working therapeutically and preventively. Within the entire Individual and Family Care department, there is also an Adult Unit where we jointly have a socially responsible social worker and a project manager for the implementation of the new Social Services Act. There is an established structure for regular support through case reviews and external supervision.
When you start your position with us, you will receive a tailored introduction, regardless of whether you have long experience or are a recent graduate. You will receive support in the introduction from your own mentor, team leader, and manager, all to ensure you get the best possible start with us. You will also be part of our implementation journey regarding the Signs Of Safety method.
Personal Attributes
As a person, you are mature, secure, responsible, enduring, and stable. You have the ability to maintain focus even in stressful situations. You take initiative for development and meet challenges and new conditions with a positive attitude. You have the ability to work independently and in close collaboration with others.
It is important that you view relationships with placed children as long-term and that you plan to work for a longer period in the role of child follow-up officer.
Qualifications
For this position, presenting a completed social work degree, a B-class driver's license, and a valid extract from the police criminal record are prerequisites for employment.
We would like you to have experience in authority exercises and social work with children and families, the ability to see opportunities, and communicate in a respectful manner. You have good investigative and documentation skills, as well as the ability to independently plan and structure your work.
