Do you want to work in an organization where a holistic view, teamwork, and the patient's entire life situation are in focus? We are now looking for an engaged counselor for the Rheumatology Clinic.
Job Responsibilities
Here, as a counselor, you will have a significant and developing role where you make a real difference in people's lives. You meet patients who have lived with the diagnosis for a long time and may need temporary support, as well as people who have recently received a rheumatic diagnosis. You work to support them in handling the challenges the disease may entail, both emotionally, socially, and physically, such as pain and fatigue.
The position offers a varied daily routine with both individual patient meetings and close collaboration in multidisciplinary teams. You work with support conversations, crisis processing, motivational interviewing, and psychosocial assessments, while contributing your expertise to create a holistic picture of the patient's situation and needs.
At the clinic, we work in a team-based manner and have, among other things, special teams focused on chronic pain, where the counselor's contribution is an important part of the patient's rehabilitation and well-being. You also get the opportunity to be involved in the organization's development and improvement work and contribute to future care.
The position also includes a role as a rehabilitation coordinator (approx. 25%), where you coordinate rehabilitation efforts and support patients on their path back to work and daily life.
About the Workplace
The Rheumatology Clinic offers specialist care to patients with inflammatory and other rheumatic diseases. The operations include outpatient clinics, day care for infusion treatments and a rehab unit, as well as a smaller number of inpatient beds at Västmanland Hospital in Västerås. We work in multidisciplinary teams where different competencies collaborate to give patients the best possible care and support.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker and who preferably have a few years of experience working as a counselor. If you are a licensed healthcare counselor, we see it as an advantage, as does basic psychotherapy training (step 1). We would like you to have experience with conversational methods and motivational interviewing. If you have also worked within healthcare or had assignments as a rehabilitation coordinator, it is a great advantage.

You are confident in your profession and have an easy time creating trusting meetings with people in different life situations. You work independently and structured, while appreciating the close collaboration in multidisciplinary teams and actively contributing your competence.
We value that you are proactive and want to be involved in developing both the operations and your own work. Since the role of rehabilitation coordinator involves collaboration with external actors and responsibility for coordination, it is important that you have a good ability to plan, organize, and structure your work effectively.
Employment Terms
Permanent position, full-time.
Daytime Monday - Friday.
