Romaskolan

Romaskolan is centrally located on Gotland, within a convenient commuting distance from Visby with excellent bus connections. The school has a total of approximately 360 students in grades F-9.

The Roma school area also includes the school units Vänge, Kräklingbo, Dalhem, and Endre, which are all F-6 schools. Students from these schools are bussed to Romaskolan to varying degrees for instruction in several subjects.

Your Responsibilities

As part of Romaskolan's pedagogical work team, you help create a meaningful and developmental day for the children. You contribute to building a activity that stimulates and awakens students' curiosity for development and learning, while also offering rest and play. You are involved in planning, conducting, developing, and following up on teaching in the school based on the needs of the children's group, the after-school center's mission according to Lgr 22, and the administration's quality work. You also actively contribute to safe, fun, and developmental breaks. The role may also involve working in the classroom and supporting teaching when needs arise, for example, during the absence of permanent staff.

Teaching in the after-school center covers four knowledge areas: language and communication, creative and aesthetic forms of knowledge, nature and society, as well as games, physical activities, and outdoor time. You will work both in the classroom and at the after-school center. Opening and closing times for the after-school center are part of this position.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a childcare education with good theoretical knowledge of children's development, learning, and care needs, as well as how to lead a children's group in pedagogical activities.

You should want to contribute your pedagogical knowledge to us. The work requires that you have a low-affective approach but can still set boundaries and meet children with special needs in a humble and professional manner. We are looking for someone who is sensitive, curious, and development-oriented. You take initiative, find it easy to collaborate, and create good relationships with children, guardians, and colleagues. You master Swedish in speech and writing.
