Here, you have the opportunity to make a difference in the daily lives of children and young people with disabilities. The position is shared between adapted school and short-term supervision, where you work in the school's educational activities in the morning and in a meaningful and secure leisure activity in the afternoon.

The adapted school is aimed at students with intellectual disabilities and offers education based on each student's individual needs. After the school day, many students continue to Pantern, a short-term supervision facility that provides a secure, developmental, and active leisure time.

Your Responsibilities

The position is daytime hours Monday-Friday and offers a varied workday with many interactions and meaningful tasks. When students have school holidays, you work at the short-term supervision facility all day.

In the morning, you work in the adapted school where you support students based on their individual needs and conditions, both in and out of the classroom. In close collaboration with special education teachers, you participate in teaching, help students in their learning, and contribute to the care needed to create a secure and functional school day.

In the afternoon, you work within the short-term supervision, where you, together with colleagues, plan and carry out activities based on the needs and interests of the children and young people. You contribute to a secure, active, and meaningful leisure time, with a focus on care, participation, and community. The work also involves providing support in everyday situations such as meals and hygiene.

The work can sometimes be physically demanding and involves some care. In both roles, you are an important adult who creates secure relationships and collaborates with guardians and other key actors around the child or young person.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a university college education as a social pedagogue or who can work as a support assistant and have a high school education in care and nursing, child and youth care, and/or personal assistant, preferably with a focus on social work. A B-class driver's license is required.

You should have experience working in care for people with intellectual disabilities, preferably with children/young people, experience with pedagogical work methods, challenging behavior, low-affective approach, sign communication, and visual aids, as well as knowledge of LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), SOL (Ombudsman of Justice), and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

As a person, we are looking for you who are genuinely interested in working with children/young people, and are comfortable with both independent work and teamwork. You have the ability and knowledge to see the individual's needs and at the same time work in various group activities together with other employees in the operations.

To thrive in the job, you need to be solution-focused, have great patience, and be able to meet low-affectively in a professional manner. You are positive and service-oriented and have the ability to plan and carry out activities that contribute to the children's development based on needs and wishes. The work may involve lifting and requires good physical condition to be able to play and engage in activities both indoors and outdoors.

The work requires an extra high degree of flexibility and security both in yourself and in the professional role.
