About Us

Fagersta Municipality's vision is "We shall be the best at teaching." All students should develop based on knowledge goals and their own prerequisites. Welcome to work at a well-functioning primary school with experienced, engaged, and qualified teachers!

At Mariaskolan, we have approximately 55 employees and 300 students. The school has three work teams: preschool class, after-school center, and grades 1–3 and 4–6. Each team has a team leader. The school is two-stream in all grades. The middle school (grades 4–6) has a subject-teacher system. The school's student health team consists of a special needs teacher, special educator, counselor, school nurse, deputy principal, and principal. Access to a school doctor and school psychologist is also available.

We work with systematic quality work in the form of "The Model." Evaluation tools and annual calendars have been developed jointly by the municipality's primary schools.

Currently, competence development is ongoing in reading and writing development as well as a mathematics project. The municipality's schools have also entered into a collaboration with Dalarna University, where schools deepen their work on the ongoing SKA project in the municipality. This will continue in the coming school year. We are also conducting extensive work regarding NPD diagnoses to provide all students with good prerequisites.

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher in one of the following subjects: Swedish, Mathematics, English, Art, Social Studies/Natural Sciences, or another combination. At our school, collaboration between classes and colleagues is important. This means you will receive support in your work, while we also expect you to support your colleagues in daily work.

In the role of a teacher, you lead the pedagogical work in accordance with the school's governing documents. You are responsible for planning, teaching, assessment, and documentation of students' knowledge development. You are part of a work team where cooperation and collaboration are an important part of your work. You actively participate in the school's systematic quality work according to the model developed by Fagersta Municipality.

Must hold a teaching license. Experience is meritorious.
