The Education and Employment Administration is currently seeking a special needs teacher with a focus on intellectual disability or a special educator for Sturegymnasiet in Halmstad. Your responsibilities

At Sturegymnasiet, you will become part of an engaged and warm team working to provide students with a safe, meaningful, and inspiring school experience. As a special needs teacher with a focus on intellectual disability or a special educator, you contribute to creating study peace, security, and a learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed and grow. Together, we make high school an adventure where the student always feels safe and can develop according to their own prerequisites.

You work based on the goals of the curriculum and other central and local regulatory documents to create teaching that gives every student the best conditions for success. You are responsible for planning, teaching, and assessment, as well as grading where applicable.

The role also includes mentorship, where you follow the students during their studies. This involves holding development meetings, maintaining regular contact with guardians, and collaborating with the student health service regarding student care measures. You are an important part of the student's security and development and contribute to a holistic view of each individual.

The work also involves collaboration with relevant external actors who contribute to the students' learning and the school's development. Together with the team, you document, evaluate, and plan teaching and actively participate in the joint school development work.

The assignment may change over time based on the needs of the operations.

Your qualifications

For the position, you must be trained as a special needs teacher with a focus on intellectual disability or as a special educator.

Experience of working in adapted high schools, including mentorship and working closely with students with different needs, is an advantage. Experience or education in low-affective handling and sign support is considered meritorious.

A B-driver's license is desirable as the work may sometimes require movement within the operations.

You do this by proving your citizenship in the EU/EEA or Switzerland through a passport, national ID card, or certificate of personal status together with an identity document. If you cannot do this, you need to present a work permit or show that you are exempt from the requirement for a work permit.
