The Preschool and Primary Education Department is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation – preschool, primary school, and child and student health services – we are here for children and students – together we shape the future.

Kung Karl School is a preschool to grade 6 school located in Kungsäter, approximately 3.5 miles northeast of Varberg. In grades 7-9, students attend Lindberg School. The school has a leisure center well integrated with the primary school and the preschool. Teaching at Kung Karl is designed so that students have real influence on working methods, forms of work, and the content of teaching. Kung Karl School works actively for an inclusive school with systematic work against bullying, harassment, and offensive treatment. At Kung Karl, outdoor life is central, especially for younger ages. In the fantastic outdoor environment surrounding the school, outdoor activities are conducted year-round.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a teacher who has special education competence and can conduct teaching in Swedish and English. As a teacher with us, you have a central role in creating a safe, developmental, and motivating environment where we together create the best possible meeting for learning. By planning, implementing, and following up on your teaching, you give students the prerequisites to grow based on their unique needs and goals.

Main responsibilities:

• Teaching in grades 2-6 English and grades 4-6 Swedish, plus special education teacher in preschool to grade 6.
• Plan, lead, and evaluate teaching based on regulatory documents and chosen didactic strategies.
• Meet each student in their knowledge progression and strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-confidence through professional leadership.
• Develop stimulating learning environments that encourage learning, participation, and student influence.
• Promote a holistic view of the student's school day through close collaboration with colleagues and guardians.
• Participate actively in the school's systematic quality work and contribute to a formative approach in pedagogical daily life.

Qualifications

You are skilled at building relationships and create trusting contacts with both students and guardians. You have a good feel for the group, are flexible, have didactic ability, and adapt your methods based on students' different needs, knowledge progression, and daily mood.

We are looking for you who:

• Have a teaching license with eligibility for teaching in Swedish and English for grades 2-6.
• Have special education competence and can conduct pedagogical investigations, provide students with special support, and provide guidance to pedagogues.

Employment Terms

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer (subject to recall of permanent staff).
