RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities include teaching various music subjects, such as ensemble (aural and written), percussion, music theory, and music production. You clarify the goals of the teaching and communicate them in an understandable way to the students. You also assess their goal achievement and assign grades according to the curriculum.

At Peder Skrivare School, the teaching staff works with joint assessment before grading. The position may include mentorship for a class on the Arts Program. As a mentor, you play a vital role in supporting students by having a good understanding of their needs, following their studies, and actively working to ensure they achieve their upper secondary diploma. You build strong relationships with students and maintain regular contact with guardians to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

Through collaboration with teaching colleagues, student health services, and school leadership, you contribute to creating a positive school environment where students thrive, develop, and reach their goals. You actively participate in various collegial contexts where you both share and develop your subject knowledge as well as your pedagogical and didactic skills. To thrive in this role, it is important that you actively participate in the subject group's work and appreciate collaborating with colleagues, students, and other staff at the upper secondary school. Together, you work to create the best conditions for each student's success.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a certified music teacher with percussion as your primary instrument, which is a requirement. Experience working at an upper secondary school is meritorious. Experience in music production is meritorious. You have a teaching license and are well-versed in the school's governing documents.

You can inspire your students whether it involves ensemble activities or individual percussion instruction. You use digital tools naturally in your teaching and planning and see them as a natural part of your pedagogical work. You are motivated by supporting others' learning and create good conditions for knowledge development. With your pedagogical skill, you explain content and contexts clearly, adapted to different individuals and perspectives. You encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement in the classroom. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating to achieve common goals. You thrive in teamwork and see the value in working together for the benefit of the students.

Your commitment and ability to build good relationships contribute to a positive and respectful work environment. You inspire and capture interest in the subject through clear and engaged communication. Flexibility is one of your strengths; you adapt quickly to changing conditions and have a structured, goal-oriented way of working.
