Do you enjoy working in a team and are looking for an interesting and developmental job? At the habilitation center, we contribute to enabling people with various disabilities to live as independently as possible. With us, you have the opportunity to make a real difference!

About the role

At the habilitation center, we strive to enable people with various disabilities to live as independently as possible. We work in interdisciplinary teams to maintain a holistic perspective on the patient's needs and resources. The work is carried out both at the clinic and in the patient's everyday environments. The team consists, in addition to the special needs educator, of occupational therapists, dietitians, counselors, speech therapists, doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists/physiotherapists, and nurses.

As a special needs educator, you will have a role with great variation, individual responsibility, but also close collaboration with your team colleagues. You contribute the educational perspective to the team and have tasks such as mapping play and interaction, therapeutic interventions directed at the patient or guardians, leading group activities, and collaborating with other actors around the patient. Participating in the development of working methods and approaches is also part of the role.

A well-planned introduction is standard for us, and you will have the opportunity for continuous support from your colleagues locally and in the county. We value a good work environment.

About the workplace

The habilitation center in Falkenberg-Varberg is one of three departments in Halland providing habilitation services to children, young people, and adults with various forms of congenital or early-acquired disabilities. The department is divided into three teams: two work with children up to 18 years old, and one works with adults from 18 years old. The department has extensive collective experience and a strong desire for continuous development to meet patient needs in the best possible way.

Currently, we are looking for a special needs educator for the children's team in Varberg. We are a workplace characterized by great commitment, curiosity, and a willingness to develop together to provide good and equitable care.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a special needs educator or who are about to complete your education. Experience working with people with disabilities and experience in habilitation are meritorious. A Class B driver's license is required as the role involves visits to the patient's everyday life outside the habilitation center. You must have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

You are a person who sees the benefits of teamwork and who can independently make decisions, take initiative, and drive issues regarding patient cases. It is also important that you are receptive, can give and receive feedback, and find it easy to collaborate both internally and externally, as the role involves many and varied contacts. You have the desire to work towards the goals we have set together and participate actively in work to improve the operations. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

We look forward to receiving your application!

For those who become candidates for employment, the employer will request an extract from the criminal record register (which you request yourself from the Police) prior to any decision on employment, in accordance with the Act (2013:852) on register control of persons who are to work with children.
