The Preschool and Primary School Administration is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments, with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation – preschools, primary schools, and child/student health services – we are here for children and students. Together, we shape the future.

Welcome to apply for a position with us at Bockstensskolan! We are a preschool to grade 5 school located in central Varberg, placing great emphasis on health, joy, and well-being, as we believe this leads to success in all forms of learning. Every day, the children participate in heart-pumping activities together to increase their ability to focus and be enduring in their work, as well as to share joy with each other.

Each work team is organized by grade level, and learning in the classroom takes place through co-teaching, where several teachers are responsible for the instruction together. We constantly work to develop the classroom environment based on the children's needs, and a significant part of our collegial professional development in recent years has aimed to increase our knowledge of accessible learning environments. We also place great emphasis on students' language development, as our students come from many different places around the world. This has therefore been a major focus in our training in recent years.

Our after-school center consists of four departments, also organized by grade level. At the after-school center, we also work on learning environments, how digitalization can increase student motivation and learning, and how play can stimulate development.

Job Description

As a teacher with us, you play a central role in creating a safe, developmental, and motivating environment where we together create the best possible conditions for learning. By planning, implementing, and following up on your teaching, you provide students with the prerequisites to grow based on their unique needs and goals.

Main responsibilities:

• Teaching in grade 5 in Swedish, Swedish as a Second Language, and Social Studies (SO).
• Plan, lead, and evaluate teaching based on regulatory documents and chosen didactic strategies.
• Meet each student in their knowledge progression and strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-confidence through professional leadership.
• Develop stimulating learning environments that encourage learning, participation, and student influence.
• Work for a holistic view of the student's school day through close collaboration with colleagues and guardians.
• Participate actively in the school's systematic quality work and contribute to a formative approach in the pedagogical everyday life.

Qualifications

You are a secure pedagogical leader who, with warmth and clarity, provides guidance and creates the structure required for a safe learning environment. Collaboration with colleagues is a prerequisite for success for you; you collaborate without hierarchy to develop the operation together with others.

You are skilled at building relationships and create trusting contacts with both students and guardians. You have a good feel for the group, are flexible, possess didactic ability, and adapt your methods based on students' different needs, knowledge progression, and daily condition.

We are looking for you who:

• Have a teaching license with eligibility for teaching in Swedish, Swedish as a Second Language, and Social Studies for grades 1–6.
• Have the ability to base your teaching on proven experience and scientific foundation.
• Demonstrate skill in planning and following up on the operation systematically within given frameworks.
• Have good assessment skills to follow up on students' development and give constructive feedback.
• Possess clear planning skills to structure lessons and work areas.
