About American High School, Halmstad

The school is located on the campus of Halmstad University. The school is now in its fourth academic year and has approximately 160 students studying on the Natural Science, Business, or Social Science programs. Teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish by a competent teaching team with a strong sense of community.

About the Role

We are looking for a teacher who can teach our students in social studies and geography. You are passionate about teaching your subjects and want to help develop the teaching at the school. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, assessing, and evaluating your own teaching. You are expected to lead lessons based on our pedagogical structure, for which you will receive guidance. You will work closely with a dedicated and cohesive teaching team, where collaboration and collegial learning are a natural part of daily life. You will teach in a digital environment using digital learning materials in combination with traditional literature. Teaching at the school is conducted in both Swedish and English.

Mentorship for a class is also included in the position.

The position is a permanent part-time role at 70%, with an initial probationary period of 6 months. Start date: August 3, 2026.

Your Profile

For this position, a Swedish teaching license is required, as well as qualifications to teach social studies and geography at the upper secondary level. Experience teaching at the upper secondary level is also highly meritorious. You have a strong commitment to teaching and want to develop the operations together with a strong team of colleagues, and you share our pedagogical view:
