Your responsibilities

At our school, you will teach across the school as a whole, with a main focus on our introduction program, which includes the Hotel and Tourism program. You will be part of a work team where you together organize, structure, and drive the operations based on steering documents and goals. The role also involves contributing to business development and the school's quality work.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have post-secondary education in a relevant field. You are a certified vocational teacher in hotel, tourism, and entrepreneurship, with current experience from the hospitality industry and good knowledge of modern hotel operations, accommodation, guest service, and hospitality. You have a strong focus on sustainability and a good understanding of environmental issues related to the industry. Experience of similar work as well as working with students in introduction programs and adapted upper secondary school is considered an advantage.

You are a person who sees opportunities and is accustomed to taking initiative. You have a solution-oriented approach, are confident in your role, and have a great interest in working with young people and adults. You are flexible in your teaching and are good at motivating and adapting your teaching to student needs. We see that you are independent in your work while thriving in collaboration with your colleagues.

We offer

Tranellska Gymnasium has Västerås' most experienced educators in the hotel, tourism, restaurant, and bakery industries. Approximately 220 upper secondary students and 40 adult learners study here. We are part of Västerås City's school operations, which gives you great opportunities for exchange with other teachers in your subject. We have a very close collaboration with the industry and business life. This means we can offer interesting and future-oriented education to our students and become a key player in meeting the industry's need for labor. Tranellska is located in fantastic premises by the Mälarpromenaden, and since 2024 also at Jakobshöjden with Restaurant Jacob.

Before you can be employed, you must show a clean extract from the police's criminal record register.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of residence together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
