Your responsibilities

The responsibilities include teaching Swedish, English, and Mathematics at the upper secondary level. In your teaching, you create the best possible conditions for students to achieve good academic results and encourage them to take initiative and responsibility for their own development.

You plan and evaluate your lessons and contribute to the students' development in a team with colleagues. As a teacher, it is naturally expected that you have a good ability to build trusting relationships with students and other colleagues. You will be part of a work team where you together organize, structure, and drive the operations based on regulatory documents and our pedagogical philosophy.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified high school teacher with the eligibility to teach Swedish, English, and Mathematics. Previous experience of teaching at the upper secondary level is a plus. We also see that you have good skills in handling computers and technical aids in your teaching.

As a teacher, it is important that you have clear leadership skills and the ability to create a safe learning environment characterized by good relationships and a desire to learn. You understand the mission and create good relationships with colleagues, students, and their guardians. In your role, you care that the teaching maintains high quality and plan your work in an effective way. As a person, you are secure, stable, and act based on goals. You are also meticulous, quality-conscious, and independent. Furthermore, we want you to collaborate well with others and work for a learning and innovative climate.

We offer

Tranellska is part of Västerås City's school operations. We are the most experienced educational provider within the hotel, tourism, restaurant, and bakery industries. Here, approximately 240 upper secondary students and 40 adult learners study. We train future chefs, waiters, bakers/pastry chefs, and employees for the hotel and tourism industry. We are now facing a continued exciting development work which requires great commitment from all of us. We are located in modern and well-equipped premises next to Lögarängsbadet.

We have a very close collaboration with the industry and business life. This means that we can offer interesting and future-oriented education to our students, and we are an important actor in meeting the industry's need for labor.

Before you can be employed, you need to show a clean extract from the police's criminal record register.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of personal data together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
