Stureby School is an F-9 school (grades 1-9) with approximately 1,160 students located in southern Stockholm. We have good results and high application demand.

The leisure activities for younger children are divided into four units. Each unit has a leisure coordinator who leads the operations.

In the development work for leisure activities, leisure staff, leisure coordinators, and school leadership collaborate to offer our students equal education at the after-school center.

Job Description

Teacher for After-School Center – with the opportunity to become a Leisure Coordinator!

Do you have a burning interest in after-school pedagogy and want to drive development at our school? At Stureby School, we are now looking for an engaged teacher for the after-school center. For the right person – who has the right drive and wants to take the next step – there is also a potentially exciting opportunity to take on the role of leisure coordinator.

We are looking for you who have substantial experience in working and developing within the after-school center, as well as the ability to inspire, coordinate, and lead other adults.

What does the role involve?

With us, you get the best of both worlds. You belong to a work team in one or several grade levels and have your own planning time in addition to the common leisure planning.

Depending on your profile, the position can be shaped based on the following two parts:

1. Your role as a Teacher in the After-School Center

At the core, you are a key person in daily operations, working from the compensatory and complementary mission of the after-school center.

• Teaching & Pedagogy: You plan, implement, and evaluate activities based on the curriculum, with students' interests and needs in focus. Depending on your qualifications, this may also include some teaching during the regular school day.

• Collaborative Learning: You view collaborative learning as a given and always put the student's best interest at the center.

2. Your potential as a Leisure Coordinator

For the right person, there is an opportunity to step into the role of leisure coordinator. Here, you become a driving force in developing our leisure activities forward.

• Leadership & Coordination: You lead and coordinate the staff and teaching within the after-school center.

• Operational Development: You turn ideas into practical development and have the ability to engage and inspire your colleagues in daily work.

To thrive in this role, you are a person who balances high energy and joy with structure and clear frameworks. You are unpretentious, cooperative, and confident in low-affective handling, which enables you to meet a broad spectrum of needs among students.

We are looking for you who have a strong drive to develop the after-school center and who enjoy motivating other adults.

Your Qualifications

• Requirements: A university degree in education with eligibility to teach in the after-school center (teacher certification).

• Meritorious: Substantial, stable, and current experience in working and developing within the after-school center.

• Meritorious: Previous experience in operational development, leadership, or working in a coordinating role.
