Regardless of where you work in our organization or what role you hold, you help create life-changing change.

SiS Youth Home Ryds Brunn receives school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse.

Job Description

Do you want to help create hope for the future among vulnerable young people? Do you want to work in a school with small classes and teaching based on trust and what the students can achieve? Then the position as Deputy Principal at SiS Youth Home Ryds Brunn School is for you. The role is a combination of duties as a Deputy Principal and as a special needs teacher or teacher. The distribution of tasks will vary depending on the applicant's qualifications and education.

Youth arriving at our facility are often in problematic and tough life situations. Many have negative experiences of school and low trust in teachers and other adults. We constantly work to awaken their desire to learn and make them proud of themselves. Teaching takes place in small classes, allowing our teachers ample time for each student. We always start from individual needs and build relationships that make the young people feel safe at school.

As Deputy Principal, you are an important part of the daily operational work and provide support to the Principal in the overall mission. Together with the Principal, you work on leading and developing the school's activities and the systematic development and quality work. The role also includes some administrative tasks such as scheduling, staff planning, and documentation in the school's documentation system. In the Principal's absence, you are also responsible for planning and leading the work at the school, with additional responsibility for issues such as work environment and economy.

At the institution, there are several complementary competencies where you are one of the cogs in a joint effort regarding the young people. Collaboration with, for example, nurses, treatment pedagogues, and psychologists is therefore an important part of your duties. Many of us care, and together we take a holistic approach to the young people.

To ensure you have the right conditions to succeed in the role with us, you will receive a comprehensive induction program with a strong focus on safety aspects in the work. You also have the opportunity to grow and develop professionally.

Qualifications

You who apply for the position must be a qualified teacher. Experience or education as a Deputy Principal/Principal is meritorious. Special needs education is also a plus. There is no specific educational direction required; we are primarily looking for an experienced school employee with good interpersonal skills. However, it is a requirement that you master the Swedish language well in both speech and writing, as well as having good computer skills.

You who apply for the position are secure and stable, with self-awareness and the ability to distinguish between personal and professional matters. You take responsibility for your tasks by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work efficiently, and you enjoy investing time, energy, and commitment in your work. Collaboration is something you enjoy, and you listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively by being clear and ensuring your message has been received. Furthermore, you are a person who demonstrates a positive attitude towards work and operations, and you act in accordance with decisions, goals, and guidelines. You also adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

We also believe that you enjoy being part of a school characterized by good collegial relations and plenty of humor.

At SiS, we value good collegial relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration.
